Besides the Timberwolf Trail at my home school, Woodside Elementary, our district has another amazing outdoor resource with unbelievable potential. Sitting smack dab in the center of the high school, middle school, and intermediate school triangle is the parcel of land I .m going to start calling Charger Woods. While this land has no official name, maybe this one will stick. 😁
With temperatures in the low seventies, beautiful colors, and a little extra time to play with, this was a perfect spot for a nature excursion.
We all enjoyed the view while Embry and Oakley worked on their witch's stew.
The forest floor was blanketed with a rainbow of nuts and leaves.
Similar to the Timberwolf Trail, I am hopeful that more and more students get the opportunity to use this land for all that it has to offer, academically, physically, and emotionally. In just a few weeks, our new class of nature kindergarteners will be able to explore this land for the first time together.
