Tyke Hike #65 - Pike Lake
It was a beautiful Saturday morning for a hike on the Ice Age Trail. Fifteen hikers joined in on a fun-filled morning at Pike Lake State Forest.
We diverted off the Ice Age Trail for a little bit to explore one of my favorite local trails for children, the Black Forest Nature Trail. here we explored a marker tree and discovered plenty of opportunities for natural play.
We also found a crucial necessity for hiking with infants. A diaper rock. I have used this rock to change my kids for nearly six years. I have a number of diaper rocks all over the county. 😀
We always enjoy finding nature on our hikes, but this group of children was especially fascinated with all the spiders and webs we came across.
Plus, when a tower is available, a tower must be visited.
When the hiking was completed, Embry was ready for one of her Tyke Hike tasks, the handing out of the finisher certificates.
Let the summer tyke hiking begin!
