Timberwolf Trail - Week 23 & Retzer Nature Center Experience #4- 2018-19 Edition
Who ordered all the snow? Either way, these nature kindergarteners found a way to have fun with the flakes.
Besides exploring and playing along the trail, our friends from the Retzer Nature Center joined us to learn more about birds.
We met Gracie,
heard a great birding story titled Crow Not Crow,
and experimented with different feathers.
We also made bagel birdfeeders
and searched the trail for a perfect spot to feed our feathered friends.
After more fun with Old Man winter, we zoomed in on birds of prey,
wrapping up a week of learning with owl pellet dissections.
Of course, you can't end the week without some more natural play, especially with thawing snow creating class-sized puddles.
The rock pile is starting to thaw out.
The tree-sicles were an interesting sight.
Winter tree climbing is the best.
And though more snow is on the way, the sun made me excited for our butterfly garden. It's under there, I promise!
