Timberwolf Trail - Week 16 - 2018-19 Edition
Our first week of 2019 was an abbreviated one, but that won't stop nature kindergarteners from the joy of exploration and discovery in the outdoors.
With our first moderate amount of snow coating the ground upon our return from winter break, we had to play in it.
We also discussed our next unit of study: birds. We worked with various avian artifacts and journaled about what we already knew about our feathered friends.
It might be a bit hard to see, but the room is also decorated with various bird pictures, both with small window decals and labeled photographs.
Our unit kickoff was a quick look at penguins that culminated in a few activities, including penguin mosaics.
Though our end of the week temperatures approached fifty degrees, there was still enough snow on the ground to snowshoe, so that's exactly what we did.
We also practiced some penguin waddling while transferring penguin eggs down the hill.
And, of course, you can't end the week without some wonderful natural play.
