Tyke Hike #53 -National Trails Day 2018 - Hartland
On this cool spring morning, it was wonderful to get out on the trail at one of our biggest events of the year: National Trails Day. With Embry busy, this was Oakley's first Tyke Hike without her sister. She didn't seem to mind as they was plenty to capture and keep her attention.
Once we went hiking, one of our first objectives was to teach the attendees the importance of "bopping the blazes."
We also taught the importance of trail maintenance and worked together to collect two large bags of garlic mustard and some trash.
Of course, a Tyke Hike isn't complete without some natural play.
Oakley was a little preoccupied and didn't complete her Ice Age Trail BINGO, but I have a feeling she (and her big sis) will have plenty of opportunity this summer.
